I.Philosophy

 

The Degree in Business Administration at Haske Business School is designed with future business leaders in mind. This Bachelor’s program is made to equip candidates with the relevant skills and to encourage them to use their creativity to resolve complex business problems.

The candidates have the four-year international route program to follow which includes a foundation year which introduces them to the fundamentals of creative business and management.Work-place relevant skills taught at Haske Business School makes its candidates ready to face the challenges of modern business. The candidate by the end of this under-graduate degree, is equipped with a solid understanding of the business landscape and with a range of transferable skills. There is also a three-year route through HSC and ‘A’ Levels or a degree from in a relevant course of studies.

 

II.Objectives

 

The objectives of the B.Sc. Degree in Business Administration at Haske Business School are to build in the candidate:

  1. The ability to interface efficiently with external and internal customers of the organization and the department.

  2. Knowledge of accounting, content workflow, and financial analysis software useful for accurate decision making and management.

  3. Strong work ethic to succeed in a dynamic work environment as is common in modern times.

  4. Ability to oversee harmony and success in teams and groups while prioritizing work;

  5. The capability of preparing operational budgets while developing and using organizational objectives which should be met.

  6. Ability to excellently tolerate stress as well as knowledge to build partnerships;

  7. Superior time-management skills to manage the time of others and to understand and implement economic principles.

 

III.Brief Description

This program at Haske Business School is highly structured to include a lot of other related disciplines such as - accounting, international business law, economics, finance, management, international business, and information systems and so on. A cap-stone research project course requiring students to apply their knowledge of the various aspects of business in a market simulation concludes the studies in the final year before graduation.

IV.Admissions Requirements

Haske Business School is universal and as such operates a variety of pathways and admission requirements into its programs. International candidates whose qualifications are a little different from those listed are very welcome as Haske Business School undertakes engagements with various national and international examination bodies/ to get the necessary translations of such qualifications to their Nigerian equivalents.

The minimum qualification for admission into the Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business Management is five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes in examinations such as WAEC or NECO or NABTECH or their equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings. Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics and Economics or Commerce are important.

Haske business School also admits candidates into the three-year program who have at least two (2) passes at HSC or ‘A’ Level or a related degree.

 

V.Graduation Requirements

Candidates deemed qualified to be awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Haske Business School, must have successfully completed at least 120 credit hours of course work in the school taken from the variety of courses it has mounted to enrich the training of candidates. Such candidates should have meet attendance requirements and as well as passed all exams both take-home and fixed-period (semester) exams to which are added a research project of about a hundred thousand words i.e., between 70 to 100 pages, to qualify for the award.

DEGREE IN AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT

  1. Philosophy

 

The silent but domineering sector in most developing countries is the agricultural sector with its vast distribution network of middle and small outlets to a large pool of customers. Haske Business School observes that the businesses associated with the production, processing and distribution of agricultural products have almost everyone interested. Haske B. S therefore mounts this degree program to create pool of knowledgeable persons in both agricultural economics and business. It is hoped that this will equally meet the needs of the local population as Gombe State of Nigeria is widely involved in a wide range of crop, animals and birds production and distribution. Candidates outside Gombe State and from other countries will find the deeply rich scientific history of crop, animals and birds’ production and distribution very useful to their studies. Graduating candidates are to be able to prepare plans that can successfully lead agribusiness firms to manage risk and realize a positive return.

Also, the vision is to train candidates to apply business strategies and economic principles to solve problems in production, distribution and consumption of agricultural goods and services. So, graduates are given the tools to navigate this global industry and the uncertainty inherent in agricultural production and of course, distribution.

The overall objective of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Agri-Business at Haske Business School is to produce knowledgeable and skilled graduates with the capability to profitably manage innovative agro-based organizations or enterprises in which various jobs can be created. Such graduates should also be able to apply such knowledge and skills in public and private sector and non-governmental organizations.

The more specific objectives are:

  1. To equip graduates with current global, regional, and domestic trends and market realities to enhance strategic capabilities and planning in agro-based organizations.

  2. To build in graduates adaptability from the understanding of the changing roles of policymakers and government agencies in shaping the agricultural industries’ value chain.

  3. To develop in candidates skills the application of which shall be relevant to modern day field-based projects.

  4. To empower graduates to be able to use the learned strategic planning tools and management strategies to take advantage of the growing opportunities for processed foods around the world.

  5. Endow graduates with the entrepreneurial abilities to be able to set up and/or profitably manage agro-based industries and enterprises in modern times.

  6. To prepare graduates who are very ready to apply their knowledge and skills in public, private, and non-governmental organizations.

  7. For graduates to so understand the agricultural processes and various management practices that they can apply organizational policies knowledgeably and responsibly.

 

  1. Brief Description

 

The B.Sc. degree program in Agri-business emphasizes the application of economic and management concepts to problems facing the agribusiness professional. The program emphasizes the study of economic and agribusiness management concepts and their application to food and agricultural business situations. The curriculum focuses on current issues facing agribusiness managers while providing tools for making better decisions in the areas of risk management, logistics, financial management, strategic planning, agricultural resource, and trade policy, marketing, human resource management, and institutional changes within agriculture.
